the Unending Journey of the Wandering Author

A chronicle of the unending journey of the Wandering Author through life, with notes and observations made along the way. My readers should be aware I will not censor comments that disagree with me, but I do refuse to display comment spam or pointless, obscene rants. I have always known I was meant to write, even when I was too young to know the word 'author'. When I learned that books were printed, I developed an interest in that as well. And I have always been a wanderer, at least in my mind. It's not the worst trait in an author. For more, read my writing; every author illuminates their heart and soul on the pages they write upon.

Thinking Blogger Award

Earlier, Jennifer tagged me with the Thinking Blogger Award; then, Miss Kitty at Educated and Poor named me as one of the Five Blogs That Make Me Think. I want to thank them both; despite the time it took me to get around to posting this (I wanted to leave the Child Without A Voice post up for a while, then other things came along...) I am honoured.

I suspect these are slight variations on the same meme, but since there are subtle differences, and it will give me the chance to showcase ten blogs, I'm going to treat them as two separate memes. In any case, I've made Jennifer and Miss Kitty wait long enough, it's only fair that I should put up two separate posts instead of just lumping them together.

Rather than post both today, I'm going to begin with the Thinking Blogger Award, since Jennifer's post was the first one. Tomorrow, I will post the Five Blogs That Make Me Think. Sorry, Miss Kitty. I had honestly planned to do this sooner, then the pet food recall widened, and the Day of Silence intervened, so all I can do is apologise for taking so long.

Before I name anyone, I know some of you enjoy memes, while others consider them a burden. If you'd like to post about your award, and name five more bloggers to receive it, along with the reasons you chose them, enjoy! If not, feel free to ignore this. So, without further fuss, the five blogs I've chose to bestow the Thinking Blogger Award upon.

1: Aspiring Romance Writer; Sara may not always post frequently, but we all have busy lives, and when she does post, it is often a candid exploration of her own writing life that makes me reflect, and consider writing from angles I might have ignored if not for her honesty.

2: barista brat; I never thought about how much could go on in a place as seemingly simple as a Starbucks. And I never imagined the day to day happenings could be made so interesting. This is a great online 'fix', and I urge you to check it out!

3: skint writer; occasional writing, and thoughtful posts on a number of subjects related to writing and blogging. He seems to enjoy posing thorny questions - and I enjoy offering my take on them in the comments!

4: Moni's Nook; Whenever one of her posts appears, I know I'll need to take a little time to read what she's written and really think about it. It seems to me she ponders very carefully as she writes each post, and her effort is rewarded with some of the deepest, most thoughtful posts around.

5: Susan A.; This is a relatively new blog, composed mainly of book and movie reviews and philosophical quotes, but in the short time Susan has had this second blog, I think she's easily qualified for a Thinking Blogger Award (and, since her first blog, Writing Passions, has already been named five times, I could hardly name that again...).
